Rules of Play

  • The Baltimore Junior Golf Tour uses the most recent rules as provided by the USGA.
  • Local rules will be distributed to each player before the start of each event.
  • The maximum score on any hole is triple bogey.
  • Players will be expected to maintain a maximum pace of play of no more that 2 hours 15 minutes per nine holes. Groups required to skip a hole will suffer the maximum score for the unplayed hole.

 

Age Divisions

A boys and girls flight will be divided into the following age divisions:

 

Ages 5-8       Pee Wee Division - 9 Holes

Ages 9-11     Player Division - 9 Holes

Ages 12-14     Sport Division - 9 Holes

Ages 15-17     Championship Division - 18 Holes

 

The junior that accumulates the most points in his/ her events will be awarded the “Player of the Year” for his/her respective age division.

 

NOTE: Junior Tour players may “declare up” to a higher age division with permission from the Tour committee. However, once a junior has declared up, they MAY NOT return to their original age division for the remainder of the season.

 

 

Player of the Year Point System

Players within each division and flight will have the potential to earn points at each event. The points from a players top 7 finishes, out of the 10 possible events, will be combined to determine total Player of the Year points. Event points will be awarded as follows:

 

1st Place = 100 pts.

2nd Place = 80 pts.

3rd Place = 60 pts.

4th Place = 50 pts.

5th Place = 40 pts.

6th Place = 30 pts.

7th Place = 25 pts.

8th Place = 20 pts.

9th Place = 15 pts.

10th Place = 10 pts.

 

*Bonus points to the top 3 finishers of the Tour Championship 36 hole event
